What the Selections Mean

The split ODI leadership allows India to manage players moving into the Test leg while continuing preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup. Kishan's vice-captaincy in the last two matches is also a notable leadership opportunity after his recent white-ball performances.

The Test squad restores several frontline options and keeps Pant in the touring plan, subject to medical clearance. Final playing XIs will depend on conditions, workload management and fitness assessments closer to each match.
