Zimbabwe struggled to build momentum after choosing to bat. She dismissed Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano for 34 and trapped Nyasha Gwanzura lbw, finishing with 2/7 from two overs.

Chipo's 34 from 32 balls and captain Josephine Nkomo's unbeaten 27 were Zimbabwe's main contributions. Kranti Gaud, Nandani Sharma, Deepti Sharma and Shree Charani claimed one wicket each, while two run-outs completed a disciplined Indian bowling performance.

Shafali and Mandhana dominate the chase

Shafali Verma and captain Smriti Mandhana erased any possibility of another difficult chase. India scored 76 without loss in the powerplay, and the opening pair added 96 runs in only 47 balls.

Shafali struck six fours and four sixes in her 55 from 25 balls. She was dismissed with India needing seven more runs, before Mandhana completed the chase with an unbeaten 47 from 25 balls. Anushka Sharma finished unbeaten on two.

Mandhana secures first series win as full-time captain

The result gave Mandhana her first series victory since taking over as India's full-time white-ball captain. India followed their four-wicket win in the opener with a far more complete performance and will now pursue a 3-0 sweep in the final T20I in Raipur on 20 October.

Record-setting victory for India

India completed the 103-run chase with 67 balls remaining, the largest margin by balls remaining in a 100-plus chase in Women's T20I cricket at the time of the match. It was also India's tenth consecutive T20I victory and their 17th win in the format during 2026.
